CONVENTION NEWS
       "Adi-Con  2003"

This Spring, friends and sponsors from around the world attended the 12th Annual Valley Farms Adi-Con, held, as always, in Las Vegas every April.

This year was especially exciting for us as at it was the first time delegates from Japan and Newfoundland were able to join.

NEW--We recently recieved a very nice letter from one of our conventioners.  You can read it here.

DAY 1

8:00 am to 1:00 pm-Registration:  This gave everyone a chance to get reacquainted and welcome first time participants.

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm- Lunch catered by Sandra's Roadside Cafe.
Always a favorite.  Sandra herself is an honorary  member of the Valley Farms Board of Directors.

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm- Keynote Address "The Detrimental Effects of Arid Climate Upon Adipocere Formation" given by  Umberto Orangatoo from South Africa.  The question and answer session afterward was lively and informative.

3:00 pm to 4:00 pm- Slide show presentation featuring  the construction of the new state of the art Valley Farms production facility.

4:00 pm to 5:00 pm- Unveiling of the new "Adipocere" stamp adopted by the Post Office.  This was extremely exciting, as we have all worked so hard for so long to help bring this into being.

DAY 2

8:00 am to 9:00 am-Breakfast Cook-Off featuring all of your favorite Adipocere Recipes. The delegation from Japan has introduced some exciting and unusual new preparations, all of which turned into crowd pleasers and will certainly become staples at all future Adi-Con's.

9:00 am to 10 pm-Book signing.  Respected journalist and anthropologist,  T. Argonne Fitzgerald, attended to promote his latest book-
"Of Groceries and Graves- A Cultural History of Adipocere".  A movie based on the work is being kicked around Hollywood circles.

10:00 am to 12:00 pm-Just the most outrageous eating contest on the planet!  The winner consumed an incredible 5.7 pounds of raw, unrefined Adipocere.  Certainly a record.  (Guinness has yet to respond to inquiries, however).

12:00 pm- Closing ceremonies.   See you all at Adi-Con '04.
